The New York Design Center has been committed to transforming and enhancing both living and working environments since 1926. Each year, the historic building at 200 Lexington Avenue hosts “What’s New, What’s Next,” an event inviting industry leaders and consumers alike to view new products and participate in conversations on the past, present, and future of interior design.
RoAndCo’s brilliant branding and print design for this and previous years of What’s New What’s Next gave us a framework for the visual design of the companion website. During the sales process, I helped to come up with an appropriate technical strategy based on their requirements and budget, and worked with Creative Director, Mickey Winter to ensure our design would be efficient to build and scalable for their content.
Something Digital created an intuitive, responsive website for displaying a large amount of event information for “What’s New, What’s Next”. We populated content using a spreadsheet upload, which allowed for iterative editing and easier collaboration with New York Design Center’s marketing team. Using a static site generator, Overall, the time and budget overhead of the content management platform was reduced while ensuring that the microsite looked great and complimented the branding.
In the month after launching “What’s New, What’s Next,” user engagement vastly improved and the number of design enthusiasts browsing its virtual showrooms increased more than 110% YoY.
