React Developer

Something Digital is an interactive agency based in mid-town Manhattan – we’ve spent close to 20 years developing custom software, eCommerce sites, intranets, and websites to diverse clients ranging from startups to fortune 500 companies. Something Digital is looking for a React JavaScript Developer to join the project team and be part of a world class development team.

We are looking for a JavaScript developer who is proficient with React and modern JavaScript development. You will be developing user interface components for complex B2B ecommerce websites.

Responsibilities

  • Develop user-facing features using React, TypeScript, Redux, Jest, etc.
  • Interpret wireframes and designs, translating them into quality code
  • Work with data from REST and GraphQL APIs
  • Collaborate with other development teams to plan implementation and integration with a services layer

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in JavaScript using modern tools (Babel, Webpack, npm)
  • Understanding of core React concepts and — ideally — common libraries such as Redux, React Router
  • Familiarity with UNIX command line and Git version control
  • Comfortable working with REST or (bonus points) GraphQL APIs
  • Experience with internationalization within React is a plus
  • Computer Science degree or equivalent

Test Automation Engineer

Location: New York, NY or Remote

we’ll need you to

  • Automate functional tests using the Selenium/Robot Framework
  • Integrate test automation into build pipelines
  • Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test strategy and test plans
  • Work with the QA Manager and the leads to refine quality processes and strategy
  • Develop test cases, acceptance criteria and test data necessary to execute test cases
  • Define and report meaningful test metrics to support decision making by the project manager; thoroughly identify, record and track defects
  • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure

it’d be great if you had

  • Experience with eCommerce applications
  • Familiarity with Unit Testing Frameworks such as TestNG
  • Experience with Continuous Integration Build Systems (e.g. Jenkins)
  • Solid understanding of object oriented programming, design and debugging skills
  • Excellent understanding of software design techniques
  • Experience of source control systems and configuration management
  • BS in engineering, computer science, information systems or other related science degree with 2+ years of experience as a automation/functional tester
  • Expertise of ad hoc database queries using SQL or SQL tools
  • Communication and technical writing skills necessary to produce formal test specifications and test plans
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with fast moving and growing organizations, and/or that you have experience working in retail organizations understanding the priorities and nature of the services provided.

Magento Lead Developer

WE’LL NEED YOU TO

  • Develop Magento solutions
  • Maintain Magento budget templates
  • Provide back end budgets for new build and enhancement requests
  • Approve and collaborate on development lifecycle deliverables including PSDs, Wireframes, Base Styles, Development / Code, QA Issues and resolution
  • Review developer code and project delivery to maintain and improve code quality control and adherence to standards
  • Contribute to and review back end developer standards and training plans
  • Guide and mentor the back end development team
  • Develop and maintain work plans
  • Assist with sales activities
  • Maintain and evolve development process
