Revenue Assurance Dashboard
Verizon Business provides global giant Verizon’s IT, communications, security and network solutions to groups around the world. The Revenue Assurance (RA) arm of Verizon Business provides cost recovery services to all the Verizon operational divisions.
The RA division looks for areas where services were not billed, orders have not been processed, or billing is occurring improperly, resulting in a revenue gap. In other words, RA attempts to squeeze unbilled revenue from their internal data describing billing, order processing, and usage. Revenue Assurance came to SD needing a way to visually display lost revenue for the executive and operational teams responsible for acting on these inconsistencies.
SD implemented an RA dashboard using SharePoint as the backend, and a frontend based on Silverlight. Essentially, we designed and built a user interface that would make it easy to highlight exactly where revenue was being lost throughout the organization, for both operations personnel and executives. Once an item was flagged, indicated by a red light, users could drill down to the raw data illustrating the problem. Both detailed and aggregate views were built into virtually every chart and analysis on the system.
As a result of SD’s solution, Verizon Business experienced a dramatic decrease in lost revenue, attributable directly to the reporting tools found in the dashboard.
