Website re-design, custom eCommerce solution: www.papyrusonline.com
PAPYRUS, one of Schurman Retail Group’s four brands, makes greeting cards, invitations, stationery and gifts. PAPYRUS operates hundreds of brick-and-mortar retail stores across North America, including an online store and a website for custom printing. Despite their large size, PAPYRUS remains a family-owned and operated business whose leaders are actively involved in the company.
The PAPYRUS online store presented multiple issues both structurally and visually. The limited capabilities of their eCommerce platform made it difficult to manage and impossible to integrate with their JDA ERP system. It couldn’t drive online promotions or marketing initiatives, and it became costly to update and grow. Additionally, the content display was visually unappealing, which detracted from the Papyrus brand. The site simply was not organized to optimally turn customer interactions into conversions. These shortcomings prevented PAPYRUS from delivering the type of interactive experience that online shoppers expect of retailers today.
Something Digital delivered the services necessary to improve both the function of the PAPYRUS website, and the user experience of their online shoppers. After researching a range of eCommerce solutions, we chose Magento Commerce Enterprise Edition as the platform that could meet their technology needs, while giving them room to grow. Our software team customized the Magento platform and executed a middleware layer for data transactions with the PAPYRUS JDA ERP system. Our design team updated the look and feel of the interface and implemented eCommerce best practices that allow customers to engage with the site productively and intuitively.
After months of hard work, we re-launched PAPYRUS Online—a site that now stands out among other major online retailers. We enjoyed working closely with the PAPYRUS team, and look forward to future collaborations in the world of eCommerce.
