LAUNCH Media covers and celebrates new startups, products, services and technology on the LAUNCH blog, an email newsletter and an in-person conference. This year the festival is being held in beautiful San Fran at the famed Design Center. Naturally, we’re stoked to be here, but we also can’t help thinking about how close to Napa we are. We’ll share some details later, but wanted to let you know about some of the things we’ve learned so far:
there are some really cool people here
the technology being debuted at LAUNCH is even cooler
we don’t care how fresh the spinach and artichokes are here, we still ain’t touching that dip
Something Digital is proud to be a sponsoring partner of the Healthcare Leaders of New York (HLNY) “Bringing the Social Media Revolution to Healthcare” event tomorrow night.
The social media revolution is the defining communications trend of the third millennium. From blogs to Facebook to Twitter to YouTube, the power of worldwide broadcasting and publishing is now available to anyone.
In addition to an hour of networking and cocktails, there will be presentations of the ACHE Service Awards. Anchoring the night will be a presentation from Lee Aase, director of the Mayo Clinic Center for Social Media. Lee will give us some perspective on how Mayo progressed naturally from traditional media relations to direct-to-consumer news delivery to giving patients a platform for their stories. He will describe the steps taken, safeguards developed and concrete results achieved. Finally, he will share Mayo Clinic’s vision to move social media use beyond marketing, applying these revolutionary tools to improve health and health care for people everywhere.
We’re excited to be a part of the event and can’t wait to hear what people say about the Social Media Revolution in Healthcare.
SD is excited to be attending the ILTA 2011: Rev-Elation this year in Nashville, Tennessee. For those who aren’t familiar with this conference, it’s the premier meeting of Legal Technology. This four and a half day event is universally regarded as THE place to be. Thousands of Legal and Technology experts will converge on “Music City” and talk about a range of topics like Combining Workflow Tools to Cloud Computing to Information Management to Mobile Technologies – all specifically focused on the Legal industry. Our own Mike Savino will be there bringing us live tweets and some ideas for great eats (yeah, Mike likes good eats). Make sure to follow our conference updates on Twitter @SomethingDigitl.
SD is stoked to be a sponsor of the Caramoor American Roots Music Fest this year. It’s taking place on July 2nd and is a full day of Bluegrass, Folk, String Band, Blues and Jazz. The line up – think you’re ready for this? – includes James Maddock, Brother Sun, Spuyten Duyvil, The Sweetback Sisters, Ollabelle and one of my personal favorites, David Grisman. (I haven’t heard his new album yet, but since I’ve a certain nostalgic fondness for his collaborative work with Jerry Garcia on the “The Pizza Tapes” and especially “Shady Grove,” I’m going to be beside myself.)
In addition to the music, there will be fun, free activities for kids and delicious food and beverages for purchase (or you can just bring your own). Tickets are on sales now and are for full festival access and pricing levels reflect seating areas for the 7pm performance; all other performances are open, lawn seating.
So join us, spread a blanket, have a picnic and spend the day exploring the majestic gardens and natural beauty of Caramoor while enjoying some truly inspiring music! Gate opens at 10:30am and music begins at 12:30pm.
