Senior .Net Developer

Something Digital is seeking a Senior .Net Developer to oversee a staff, process, and P&L for an experienced software development practice, as part of a larger technology professional services firm. Candidates must be prepared to oversee the building of custom software in the Microsoft stack (.Net, SharePoint, Dynamics CRM), manage teams and processes, and support sales and marketing initiatives specific to their practice group. Role will report to the Principal and Founder.

we’ll need you to

- Manage, prioritize and schedule work requirements across a number of clients, projects, and contracts involving Microsoft technologies
- Determine ways to evolve and grow the practice group toward higher revenue and best-in-class gross margin
- Lead sales engineering process for developing new business with Microsoft technologies
- Deliver thought leadership (e.g., blog posts, speaking engagements, white papers, etc.) relevant to your work at SD
- Contribute guidance to software development timelines and tasks on an ongoing basis in collaboration with project managers
- Provide clear and concise written and verbal communication to clients, colleagues, and SD management, often with technical detail
- Lead account management, including administration of managed service agreements
- Create technical requirements and documentation (functional specs, tech specs) for prospective engagements
- Assist with preparing work plans, budgets, and timelines
- Support software development process by taking on development tasks and debugging technical issues
- Collaborate with QA to create test plans and ensure thorough quality assurance
- Motivate, grow and evaluate a team of developers through strong mentorship, development of training plans, and ongoing oversight of their effort
- Contribute during off-hours when critical issues arise and to meet deadlines
- Serve as a member of the SD management team, collaborating with four other managers to evolve and grow Something Digital into a best-in-class technology professional services company

you must have

- 8+ years of Software development experience with progressively more challenging responsibilities that include management
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and oversee multiple projects and service agreements
- Strong aptitude and proven skills (i.e., work experience and certifications) with Microsoft technologies (.Net, SharePoint, Dynamic CRM)
- Strong English writing and presentation skills
- Strong requirements gathering and estimating skills
- Aptitude for developing, evaluating, and motivating staff
- Experience supporting and collaborating with external clients in a professional services environment

it’d be great if you had
- Master's Degree in Comp Sci, MIS, Business Administration, or related field
- Vertical knowledge in healthcare, legal, accounting, retail, or financial services
- Experience with aptitude for dev ops
- Experience maintaining and approving timesheets and training plans
